New Restaurant Alert: Dipdenza Coffee at The Fort Strip, Bonifacio Global City
Your next stop for specialty blends and lip-smacking delights
G/F The Fort Strip, 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City
Open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. (Monday to Friday) and 6 a.m. to 4 a.m. (Saturday to Sunday)
(SPOT.ph) The coffee shop named after the Italian word for "addiction" has an ironic but well-meaning mission: Dipdenza Coffee wants Filipinos to start drinking more coffee—as in the U.S. and Europe, multiple cups throughout the day. The goal is clear. For coffee to be Filipinos’ lifeblood.
Dipdenza sources beans from all over the globe, like Brazil, El Salvador, and India. Owners Atty. Angeli Albaño and Brenier Elbo, however, add that there is more to their coffee shop than specialty brews. They even suggest asking the baristas for the best snack to pair with their signature drinks.
Once you’ve made your choice, settle into one of the café’s comfortable spots, sip your coffee, and nibble on your pastry as you enjoy soothing background sounds from their selection of acoustic covers.
Traditional coffee drinkers are likely to enjoy Dipdenza’s take on the Café Americano (P110/Piccolo, P125/Medio, P135/Enorme). The roast is slightly stronger compared to other Manila cafés, but it's not so overpowering that you can't drink it as is. There's no judgment here if you add a packet of sugar.
Other café staples on the menu include the classic Cappuccino (P115/Piccolo, P130/Medio, P140/Enorme), Café Mocha (P145/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P170/Enorme), Chai Latte (P140/Piccolo, P150/Medio, P160/Enorme), and Green Tea Latte (P140/Piccolo, P150/Medio, P160/Enorme). As with all hot beverages, add-ons are optional: P20 for extra flavor, whipped cream, milk, or to decaffeinate your coffee; P30 for an extra espresso shot. You can also ask your server for chilled counterparts of these favorites.
Peanut Butter Frappe
Mango Yogurt Smoothie
Lemon Ginger Juice
For those looking into sating their sweet tooth with coffee, Dipdenza recommends their bestselling Premium Peanut Butter Frappe (P160/Piccolo, P170/Medio, P180/Enorme). Other fun flavors include Cookies and Cream (P150/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P170/Enorme), Mocha Raspberry (P150/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P170/Enorme), Green Matcha (P150/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P180/Enorme), French Vanilla (P140/Piccolo, P150/Medio, P160/Enorme), and Choco Hazelnut (P140/Piccolo, P150/Medio, P160/Enorme). These drinks all come with hefty scoops of whipped cream and a rich, liquid base—a fitting complement to their collection of savory snacks.
Beef & Cheese Wraps
It has to be said: Dipdenza’s Beef & Cheese Wraps (P175) are a keeper. The tortilla wraps come with shredded beef, metered cheese, green bell peppers, tomato, cucumber, and a serving of homemade chips. Other gourmet sandwiches on the lineup include the Ciabatta Tuna Sandwich (P195), Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich (P215), and Smoked Turkey Sandwich (P235).
Aside from the perennial coffee-shop options, Dipdenza has a portion of their menu dedicated to the health-conscious. Their Peach & Mango Yoghurt Smoothie (P150/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P170/Enorme), in particular, is a crowd pleaser. Other alternatives include the Mango Mint Shake (P150/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P170/Enorme) and Strawberry & Banana Yoghurt Smoothie (P150/Piccolo, P160/Medio, P170/Enorme). They have lighter refreshments on hand as well such as Cranberry & Garlic Juice (P120/Piccolo, P130/Medio, P140/Enorme), and Lemon & Ginger Juice (P120/Piccolo, P130/Medio, P140/Enorme).
End your meal on a sweet note and have your pick from Dipdenza’s range of sweets: Choco Lava (P125), Little Chocnut Pie (P150), Turtle Pie (P120), and Lemon, Brownie, and Sansrival bars (P55 each).
Consider this fair warning: as its name connotes, Dipdenza’s specialties can get highly addictive. But what’s the harm, really, if they are too good to resist anyway?
