We dare you to try Wasabi Macarons
If you like wasabi and you like macarons, then give it a go.
(SPOT.ph) Maybe because all the usual flavors have been exhausted many times over that online purveyor Merry Macaron felt compelled to create something more avante-garde. Voilà, a Sesame Wasabi Macaron, a Japanese twist to an otherwise French original.
Call it fusion, call it weird, but you have to admit this tidbit caught your attention. It's difficult to describe the taste, but this thing is incredibly true to flavor. It's savory, with an earnest nuttiness behind that bold bite of wasabi. You might even find yourself looking for soy sauce.
Merry Macaron also has another quirky offering, the Candied Bacon, which we can strangely imagine enjoying with fried eggs and garlic rice.
This sassy and savory pair isn't for everybody, and it's not available all the time, either. But you can request a special order or wait for its revival on Facebook.
While waiting, enjoy Merry Macaron's other specialty—which we can safely say has a much more crowd-pleasing quality—sculpted macarons! Find flavors like chocolate, coffee caramel, red velvet, and Nutella in shapes like hearts, Minions, whales, turtles, and ladybuds. It's the perfect snack-slash-decor for a themed party.
