Woody's, LULU close their doors
Dare we hope they're making way for bigger concepts?
(SPOT.ph) Barely three months in and Woody's Texas BBQ has closed. The Texan barbecue joint was run by spunky couple Elian and Ines Habayeb, who also own the Chihuahua Mexican chain. The Woody's space along Makati Avenue was the site of the first Chihuahua branch.
Elian grew up in Texas, where barbecuing is practically a religion, and the couple converted the Tex-Mex burrito shop in October 2015 in an effort to keep up with their changing clientele. Read more about Woody's Texas BBQ.
Meanwhile, in Salcedo Village, LULU Restaurant has also shut down. The upscale casual dining eatery was an offshoot of a similarly named restaurant, LU, in Rockwell. It has been replaced by Catch, which focuses on seafood. Catch is owned by the Restaurantology Group, which used to run LULU and currently handles Smith, Poulet Manille, Hooch, and Ebeneezer's.
