Will your Valentine's Day taste like ampalaya or chicharon ice cream?
Meet the latest flavors at Sebastian's.
(SPOT.ph) Ian Carandang of Sebastian's Ice Cream has launched his now-annual Valentine's Day series, and the flavors express every kind of Valentine sentiment.
First, meet this year's Matinong Boyfriend. It's a sensual dulce de leche ice cream with homemade dulce de leche. It's rich and heavy, with a refreshing strawberry sorbet that gives it a fun and light kick.
The Matinong Girlfriend is a luscious dark chocolate ice cream with cocoa nibs. This all seems very girl-next-door, but it has a sinful vixen side, too. This ice cream comes with chocolate-covered chicharon complete with laman—because sexy doesn't mean skinny.
Closure is a tasty Earl Grey ice cream brightened by lemon and orange. Sebastian's painstakingly seeps the tea leaves (flavored with Bergamot oil), orange peel, and lemon peel in a cream base overnight. The mixture is strained, stirred in with eggs and sugar, then churned to beautiful ice cream. It's the kind of fulfillment you're not likely to find in any other relationship.
The most anticipated flavor is the Unresolved Issues, which, this year, comes in a bold ampalaya ice cream. It's an bitter gourd sorbet with candied ampalaya. Now that is bitter.
The Valentine's Day series at Sebastian's started in 2014. It become so successful that Ian decided to continue with the line, coming up with new ways to present each flavor every year.
Sebastian's Ice Cream has branches at Regis Center, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City; The Podium, Mandaluyong City; and SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. Read more about Sebastian's Ice Cream.
