This shop is turning cakes into ice cream
Outre's Baklava ice cream is a mind-bogglingly good invention.
(SPOT.ph) Outré's chalk art walls, liquid nitrogen stylings, and head-turning gelato concoctions have caught the attention of foodies everywhere, but it looks like this ice cream shop isn't done making people sit up and take notice.
At their recently opened Circuit Makati branch, Outré joined the ranks of dessert places that turn sweet confections into ice cream flavors. Their victims? Lamingtons and Baklava.
Outré's Lammis Gelato comes crowned with an actual piece of that Australian snack. Lamingtons are sponge cakes enrobed in chocolate sauce then covered in desiccated coconuts. That sweet, nutty flavor definitely comes through with every lick. The Baklava, meanwhile, is a Greek pastry made up of phyllo layers, nuts, and honey (or syrup). Outré's version has a rose water-infused gelato base.
We repeat: It's available only at Outré Circuit Lane, Makati City. This ice cream shop is known for its seasonal flavors, so try them while you can.
