The lines are still crazy at this new Jollibee in Illinois
They're craving a taste of "home."
(SPOT.ph) Jollibee opened their first Midwestern branch in Skokie, Illinois on July 29, and it has been drawing huge crowds ever since. People have been lining up for a taste of the famous Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti, including Pinoys who crave a taste of “home.” According to Eater Chicago, the long lines haven’t shortened, and even the drive-thru window had to be shut down periodically due to the overwhelming demand.
CBS Chicago drove to the restaurant and interviewed a few people, some of whom had traveled hours (coming all the way from Las Vegas or Honolulu!) just for a taste of the Pinoy fast-food favorite.
“Seven hours. Just for this restaurant,” said Philip Knepper in an interview by CBS.
It’s not difficult to understand why the lines are crazy. If we moved away and had to go without Chickenjoy for months, or worse, years, we’d probably go crazy, too.
