Can't Get Enough of Garlic? We Found the Ramen for You
(SPOT.ph) If it can be breaded, fried, and skewered, trust that Kushikatsu Daruma has done it. They're still fairly new, but they've made a name for themselves as a go-to for all your fried-food cravings—but that doesn't mean they aren't open to exploring other Japanese dishes, too. Just in time for the chilly holiday season, they've recently added ramen to their menu, and we can't think of a better partner for their crispy-fried skewers.
The classic Tonkotsu (P320) is here, made with a rich pork broth and grilled pork belly slices, but if you're open to new choices, Kushikatsu Daruma has more in store. The Tantanmien (P365) is perfect for those who prefer their soup spicy, with ramen noodles swimming in a broth flavored with sesame oil, peanut paste, and chili paste.
If you love anything garlicky, the Ninniku (P365) is just what you're looking for. With black garlic oil, raw garlic, as well as sweet garlic confit, this ramen brims with the distinct piquant flavor of garlic—no surprise, when you find out its name literally means "garlic." Subtler, but still tasty is the sweet-sour Miso (P365), with a broth made richer by a melted knob of butter.
There's really no separating Kushikatsu Daruma from fried skewers, but with their new ramen selection, you might just find another reason to visit.
Kushikatsu Daruma is at 2/F Uptown Mall, Uptown Bonifacio.
