These New Starbucks Espresso Drinks Will Shake Up Your Next Coffee Break

Only at select Starbucks Reserve branches!

(SPOT.ph) Almost everyone you know has probably stepped inside a Starbucks, but for true die-hard caffeine afficionados, a visit to a Starbucks Reserve is a must. Though there are quite a number of Starbucks Reserve stores now in the Metro, no two are designed exactly alike, so you're always in for a bit of a surprise.

The newest Starbucks Reserve store to open is the Power Plant Mall branch, which also holds the distinction of being Starbucks' 20th anniversary store. The branch's sloped wooden walls and ceilings are designed to be reminscent of the mountain slopes of South Cotabato and Benguet, home to some of the Philippines' most flavorful coffee beans. Meanwhile, a Reserve Bar lets you watch and converse with baristas as they make your cuppa. You can choose from different kinds of brewing methods for your drink, but the latest one is through their Black Eagle espresso machine, currently only available at their Power Plant Mall and The Podium outposts.

With the new Black Eagle espresso machine also comes  four new drinks, exclusive at Starbucks Reserve Power Plant Mall and The Podium. The Vanilla Bean Latte (P200/tall, P215/grande), which is available hot or iced, has the comfortingly mild sweetness of vanilla with the buzz of caffeine. The iced drink, Shakerato (P190/tall, P205/grande) gets its caramel-like flavor from demerara syrup, and its froth from being shaken. You can also get the drink as a Shakerato Bianco (P190/tall, P205/grande), which is made creamier by vanilla sweet cream, or as a Shakerato Bianco Deconstructed (P190/tall, P205/grande), with the vanilla sweet cream served on the side. And because these are Starbucks Reserve drinks, the beans used depend on what small amount is available for the day, so your drink could have subtly different flavor notes on your next visit. You might end up ditching your usual for these!
