Café Ysabel Finally Reopens in a New Location
It's almost like they never closed!
(SPOT.ph) With the restaurant considered an institution in San Juan City, Café Ysabel's announcement that they were closing their doors in April 2017 was understandably met with shock and sadness by many regulars. There was a glimmer of hope though: Chef Gene Gonzalez shared in a phone interview with SPOT.ph that he would be reopening the well-loved restaurant in a new location just five minutes away from the original spot. And it looks like he has finally made good on that promise, with Café Ysabel reopening at M. Paterno Street.
Strawberry Shortcake
In an Instagram post, Chef Gino Gonzalez, son of Chef Gene, shared photos of the new Café Ysabel, which shows a rustic ancestral-home charm, much like its predecessor—it's almost like they never moved. The signature Strawberry Shortcake is back, too, with Chef Gino sharing that "A customer bought five," so you might want to drop by for your share, soon.
Café Ysabel is at 175 M.Paterno Street, San Juan City.
