From Street Tacos to Lobster Rolls, Here Are the Things We're Most Excited to Have at The Grid

We can't wait for Power Plant Mall's new food hall!

(SPOT.ph) Power Plant Mall has opened a new wing, and they're giving you lots of new reasons to drop by, latest of which is The Grid. The new food hall has quite the powerhouse team to provide good eats. Here's a sample of what you can have at the food hall:

Tacos

Ever since La Chinesca opened in early 2017, Chef Bruce Rickett's taqueria in BF Homes has been making waves for their street tacos made with eccentric highly addictive toppings—from lengua, bell peppers, and pinipig, to beef tripe, watermelon, and chili. If the drive down south has stopped you from having a go at their pretty impressive tacos and other Mexican grub, you're in luck because La Chinesca is moving a little closer to the center of the Metro with an outpost at The Grid.

Lobster Rolls

Anyone who's had Bun Appetit's lobster, shrimp, and crab rolls knows how hard it is to get their generously buttered rolls stuffed with fresh seafood out of your mind—especially because they're only at the Salcedo Market every Saturday. Or at least they were, before their new permanent outpost at The Grid; you can now have lobster rolls and their Hong-Kong style garlic noodles everyday and no one but, perhaps, a guilty conscience can stop you.

Wine and Jamon

Wine night, every night? With Rambla's stall at The Grid, we're already penciling that in our calendars. Buy wine, cheese, or jamon to take home, or have your tapas and drinks on site at The Grid. While there's no word yet on what the Spanish restaurant is cooking up for Rockwell, anyone who's been to any of the Bistronomia (formerly La Lola Group) restaurants know that when it comes to tapas, they've pretty much got it down to perfection.

Cake

No food hall is complete without dessert, and for The Grid, Chef Miko Aspiras has that covered. And, knowing the chef, he isn't one to settle for anything ordinary: On his Instagram, he has already posted sneak peeks of his planned desserts, with a 17-Layer Strawberry Shortcake, and a 17-Layer Chocolate and Salted Caramel Cake in the works. Will they be offering a 17-layer-cake menu? Please don't judge us but we hope they do.

Coffee and Cocktails

What goes best with cake? We say a good cup of coffee, though if you prefer to start or end the day with some buzzy drinks, we won't stop you. The Grid has tapped the folks behind EDSA Beverage Design Group to provide coffee and libations, and with their expertise on third-wave coffee creations, we can't wait to see what blends they have to offer.

The Grid is opening at Level R2, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City.

*Update: The opening date of The Grid has been removed per request of the owners.
