Better Look for a Date Before Dining at This New Restaurant in Makati
Unless you're hungry enough to finish their big servings.
(SPOT.ph) Though we'll always be supportive of solo diners, it also feels nice to have a friend to share good food and conversation with. The team behind Vengo seems to think so, too, because their latest concept celebrates hearty food with servings large enough to be shared between at least two people. Hence the name DOS, which shares a space with Vengo in Makati City.
Honey Garlic Fried Chicken
Filipino Lamb Stew (Pares)
Crispy Tinapa Spring Rolls
When it comes to shareable dishes, nothing else fits the bill as perfectly as Filipino food. "DOS comes from the Pinoy culture of sharing," says owner Gerard Cancio in an email interview with SPOT.ph. "It's a Filipino restaurant playing on local favorites to deliver unique hearty meals for friends and family to share."

The menu focuses on Filipino staples but with intriguing twists: The tinola gets refashioned into a Sea Bass Tinola, still with that comforting quality that makes it perfect for rainy days. Beef pares gets upgraded with lamb to create the Filipino Lamb Stew (Pares). Also on offer are bagnet and fried chicken, though Cancio shares that a personal favorite of the staff is the Crispy Tinapa Spring Rolls stuffed with smoked fish, salted egg, tomatoes, and onions. Though each dish comes in the standard good-for-two sharing, there's also a special DOS por DOS serving that's good for three to four persons. After all, when it comes to hearty Filipino food, it's always best to share.
To celebrate their opening, they've got a special deal: Drop by from July 2 to 22 any time between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and get two lunch bowls for P222.
DOS is at Vengo, C. Palanca Jr. Street corner Dela Rosa Street, Legazpi Village, Makati City.
