(SPOT.ph) This is not a drill: Shake Shack is coming to the Philippines. On Shake Shack's official Twitter and Instagram page, the famous New York-born burger chain shared that they are "officially headed to the Philippines," with their launch date set for 2019.
What started out as a low-key hot dog cart in 2001 is now a burger phenomenon, with more than 150 branches worldwide.
Some of their signature items include the famous ShackBurger, a classic cheese burger with lettuce and tomato, which you can have with a single or double patty. Another crowd favorite is their Cheese Fries, topped with Shake Shack's special blend of cheddar and American cheese sauce.
Not a burger fan? They also have some mean hot dogs—after all, they were originally just a hot dog stand in the middle of Madison Square Park in Manhattan. Shake Shack prides itself in using all-natural ingredients for their food.Â
Shake Shack has been steadily expanding throughout Asia, opening a branch in Hong Kong in May. In Hong Kong, they added a few exclusive items to the menu like a milk-tea flavored shake, which makes us wonder what else they have in store for the Philippines. An ube frozen custard, perhaps?
Retail giant Stores Specialists, Inc. will be bringing the popular snack joint to the Philippines. Meanwhile, the burger chain hasn't yet shared where they're opening their first branch in the country—any guesses?
