10 Late-Night Coffee Stops for Night Owls (2018 Edition)

Who said coffee is just for mornings?

(SPOT.ph) Whether it’s to wait out bad traffic or to pre-game for a night out, there’s always reason to hunt for a late-night café. Since the caffeine will keep you up anyway, might as well stay up and chill at these coffee shops a bit longer tonight!

Little Flour

Don’t be deceived by its name—there’s nothing little about Little Flour. You can expect the same great all-day brunch pastry goodness for which its older sister, Wildflour, has become known. Settle in at this homey spot, and don’t leave without trying their luscious Cassava Cake (P160).

Little Flour is at G/F World Plaza, 4th Avenue corner 31st Street, Bonifacio Global City; and G/F The Stratosphere, 136 Valero, Salcedo Village, Makati City. Open from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. (Monday to Saturday) and 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Sunday).

Commune

This Poblacion coffee shop is a crowd-favorite among night owls who want to work until the wee hours. Try their Pork Adobo, Salted Egg, Mayonnaise Pandesal (P150), with a side of their 18-hour cold brew—the Iced Toddy (starts at P145)—to give you that kick to stay awake.

Commune is located at 36 Polaris Street, Poblacion, Makati City. Open from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. (Monday to Thursday), 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. (Friday to Saturday), and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Sunday).

Larry’s Café and Bar

Transition smoothly from coffee to cocktails at this laidback spot in Serendra. Start (or end) your day with an Americano (P105) and a slice of Mango Lime Cheesecake (P250). When the lights get dim, and you’re ready to wind down, try their Sexy Witch Martini—a citrus concoction you won’t forget.

ABKD

This café with a not-so-secret bar tucked away on the second floor is another great late-night spot in Poblacion. Apart from their bread selection, there’s a whole lot of tasty dishes to try, like their hearty Clam Chowder (P335), and the Eenie Meenie Bucatini (P405), with a creamy sauce made using only eggs.

ABKD is located at 5663 Alfonso, Poblacion, Makati City. Open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. (Monday to Thursday) and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. (Friday to Sunday).

Single Origin

With prime locations across the Metro and hours that extend until the wee hours of the morning, Single Origin is the perfect meeting place after a long workday or before heading out for a late night. Pick at a Sausage Platter (P450) or pair wine with a Cheese Platter (P525) to tame those midnight munchies.

Single Origin is at G/F Edades Building, Rockwell, Makati City; Greenbelt 3, Makati City; and 2/F C3, High Street Central, Bonifacio Global City. Open from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. (Sunday to Tuesday), 7 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. (Wednesday), 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. (Thursday), and 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. (Saturday to Sunday).

Y Café

Y Café’s vibrant, anime-inspired interiors are sure to perk you up, no matter the time of the day. Get your dose of caffeine with classic espresso-based drinks like the Americano or Flat White, though they’ve also got smoothies if you want something chill. The Baked Potato Poutine (P260) should satisfy all your cheese hankerings; and if you love all things spicy, go for the Spicy Penne with Crispy Tofu (P280).

This cozy café in Quezon City is open until 11 p.m., so you have time to chug on a mugful of caffeine while munching on some of their Cheese Wontons (P165). If dessert is more your fare, try their assortment of Bubble Waffles (starts at P140)—every bite almost feels like you’re on the streets of Hong Kong.

Refinery

Need some coffee and nibbles before battling traffic? Head on over to Refinery for coffee or a few drinks before you go. Don’t miss their regular Unli Moscato or Sangria hours (P650), and be sure throw in their cold cuts and cheese platter (P350) for a fun evening with your tita friends.

Refinery is at Joya Lofts and Towers, Rockwell Center, Makati City; and Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan City. Open from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. (Sunday to Wednesday), 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. (Thursday to Saturday).

The Brewology Café

Make sure to bring friends to sample the waffles at this tiny spot in Quezon City—and because they're open until midnight, you've got all the time in the world. The Brewology Café not only knows their coffee, but they’ve managed to spin good 'ol waffles into new varieties you’d keep coming back for. Our go-to waffle? The Waffogato (P160), buttermilk waffles that are drizzled with coffee syrup and topped with vanilla ice cream—not to state the obvious, it really is like an affogato in waffle form.

Dulo MNL

Part bar, part coffee shop, and part collaborative space, Dulo MNL is one of Poblacion’s coolest spots. Their Cappuccino is a must-try, with its bold and smooth blend that’s exactly what you need to power through a long night. Their Charcoal Latte (P140; P190 with espresso) is worth a shot as well, pun intended.

Dulo MNL is located at 4992 P. Guanzon, Makati City. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
