Your Sweet Tooth Will Fall in Love With These V-Day Desserts

(SPOT.ph) Valentine's Day is the best season to indulge in something sweet, whether you're treating someone or yourself. Luckily, lots of your favorite bakeries and pastry shops have special treats lined up for the season of love.

Classic Confections has always been known for their decadent cakes, and their line-up for Valentine's Day is no exception. Chocolate lovers are in for a treat with three special chocolate cakes. The Chocolate Chocolate Cheesecake (P1,550), which combines chocolate and white-chocolate cheesecake on top of an Oreo crust. If you can't get enough of Oreos, you can also choose the Oreo Chocolate Mousse (P1,250), which has an Oreo-walnut crust topped with chocolate mousse, whipped cream, cocoa powder, and sugar. The Meline's Chocolate Cake (P995) is also sure to satisfy those cravings with a spongy chocolate cake that's blanketed in a rich chocolate ganache, and topped with more white and dark chocolate. Not fond of chocolate? Go for the classic Sylvia's Strawberry Shortcake—a mini version of the delightfully pink cake is available for P295.

While anyone will be more than happy to receive M Bakery's signature vanilla cupcakes and banana pudding, the bakery from New York has special Valentine's-themed desserts, too. There's the picture-perfect Valentine's Cake (P2,200/six inches, P3,350/nine inches)—you can choose between a six-inch or nine-inch vanilla or chocolate cake, which is covered in red and pink vanilla-buttercream icing and piped hearts. Other, daintier options include Valentine's Day Cupcakes (P165) in vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet with rose piping and messages printed on icing; Valentine's Day Confetti Cookie (P75) or classic sugar cookies speckled with pink-and-white confetti; and Red Velvet Whoopie Pies (P185) or mini red-velvet cakes with vanilla buttercream sandwiched in between.

The Workshop at The Grid has earned a reputation as a go-to for gorgeous desserts, and their Valentine's Day sweets continue the tradition. Gorgeous, glossy red is the color motif of the pastries. There's the Strawberry Tart, filled with almond cream and chocolate fudge and topped with strawberry gelee; the King of Hearts are dainty hazelnut pralines with Guanaja dark chocolate, all encased in a Jivara milk-chocolate shell. It doesn't get more romantic than with Strawberry Rose Macarons which use fresh strawberries, though you could always go the obvious route and gift your special someone with a heart-shaped Valentine's Entremet, with layers of chocolate mousse, vanilla creme brulee, and strawberry jelly.
