(SPOT.ph) Long layovers are rarely fun, but if it means getting stuck at Singapore's Changi Airport, we don't mind at all. We're not even sure if "stuck" is the right word to use here—Changi Airport, after all, has been declared the world's best airport and has held that title for seven years in a row, according to an annual survey by Skytrax. In April 2019, Singapore also unveiled Jewel Changi, so-called because it's the "jewel" of the airport. Aside from fast check-in counters and baggage drop areas, Jewel Changi is home to indoor gardens, lots of shopping and dining destinations, and Singapore's largest Starbucks Reserve (and largest Starbucks branch so far)—and it's a beauty.
Like other Starbucks Reserve branches, this store also celebrates the coffee story from bean to cup through its design: here at Jewel Changi, it's seen through layered woodwork resembling the hillsides where coffee is grown. The interiors also feature lots of light-wood elements and greenery for a soothing, cozy vibe.
The second storey is home to artwork from different parts of Southeast Asia, including a Starbucks Siren mural designed by artist Sean Dunston and a colorful mosaic of tiles interspersed with different Starbucks cards.
While you can always get your favorite Iced Latte or Americano, Starbucks Jewel Changi has an exclusive menu of food and drinks inspired by local flavors like a Satay Chicken Ciabatta, Hainanese Chicken Rice Quinoa Salad, Milo Chocolate Tiramisu, and more.
You can also score exclusive merch like a glow-in-the-dark tumbler you can only get at Starbucks Jewel Changi, as well as an adorable Starbucks x Precious Moments line of collectibles.
Starbucks Reserve Jewel Changi is at 02-204, 78 Airport Boulevard, Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore.
