Get Your Cheese-Tea Fix With Hui Lau Shan's New Drinks

Some flavors are exclusive to the Philippines!

( Mango lovers were thrilled when Hui Lau Shan finally brought their delicious mango drinks and desserts to Manila. You might remember that the Hong Kong-born shop opened their first branch in SM Megamall back in March—but it’s definitely not their last.

The drinks-and-desserts shop is also making plans to open dozens more branches across Metro Manila, and with these openings come new exclusive drinks you’ll want to get your hands on, stat. These drinks, which will be available starting June 1, are inspired by the milk-tea craze that’s taking a hold of the country—specifically the cheese-cream trend.

Hui Lau Shan’s new Cheesy Milk series offer a variety of classic fruit-based drinks topped with a generous, creamy layer of their original Cheesy Milk. The Mango with Cheesy Milk (P140) is an obvious choice, though the Avocado with Cheesy Milk (P140) and Watermelon with Cheesy Milk (P140) are refreshing contenders, too.

If tea-based drinks are more up your alley, then you’ll be happy to know there are also Oolong and Green Tea lines included in the series.

There’s Oolong with Cheesy Milk (P100) with full-bodied oolong tea topped with the delicious Cheesy Milk. If you like your tea with an extra kick, the Guyabano and Oolong with Cheesy Milk (P120) comes with actual bits of guyabano, giving the drink a different fruity dimension altogether. Rounding out the Oolong line is the Strawberry and Lychee Oolong with Cheesy Milk (P130) that transports your taste buds to breezy summer afternoons.

Green-tea lovers won’t miss out on the fun either. It’s hard to go wrong with the earthy and creamy combo of the Green Tea with Cheesy Milk (P100). If you enjoy your tea with a little more texture, the Mango Green Tea with Cheesy Milk (P120) has juicy, sweet mango bits. Want to take it up all the way? The Mixed Fruit Green Tea with Cheesy Milk (P130) is your fully loaded bet—complete with fleshy melon, crunchy kiwi, and sweet watermelon bits all mixed into the smooth green tea.

Curious about the Cheesy Milk? Best not to confuse it with the usual cream cheese topping you find at your favorite milk tea shops. “[The Cheesy Milk is] our own mixture of cheese and cream and milk,” explains Fresh Versoza, CEO and President of Fat Daddy Group, the company who first brought Hui Lau Shan to the Philippines. “We really look at as something different, especially with how you drink it as well.”

Each drink is carefully prepared to ensure an enjoyable drinking experience.

And you’ll notice that how you’re enjoying their drinks is just as important an experience as what you drink at the shop. The Cheesy Milk drinks are all served with a reusable sippy cup (in the brand’s signature bright yellow, of course!), allowing you to enjoy the multi-layered flavors the drinks have to offer.

Hui Lau Shan promises to introduce more Philippine-exclusive drinks in their lineup. The new series should already signal that there are greater things to come, but one thing’s for sure: With Hui Lau Shan’s Cheesy Milk series, you really will have a big smile everyday.

Hui Lau Shan is at SM Megamall, Promenade, Eastwood Mall, and UP Town Center. Hui Lau Shan’s Cheesy Milk series will be available starting June 1.
