(SPOT.ph) Ice cream's got a way of somehow being both universal and hit-and-miss. It can be the greatest source of comfort during tough times, but if you eat it a little too leisurely, you lose a good chunk of what makes it great—texture, flavor, or both, depending on what you get. You're not in danger of that with GROM Gelato (P495/pint), and while a bit steep, founders Guido Martinetti and Federico Grom can assure the public that the price tag is beyond justified.

There's no non-home-shopping-network-y to say this, but once you taste it, you'll know what we mean: the flavors are just so pure. Not an ounce of the ingredients seems to go to waste. The Cioccolato tub contains some of the most aggressively bittersweet cacao that's ever graced a human being's mouth; the Pistacchio tastes as though they turned actual pistachio nuts into cream. Stracciatella is an easy favorite—smooth-as-anything Fior di latte meeting Ecuadorian chocolate chunks that would soothe every savage beast within you; while the Crema Di Grom is just as rich, but slightly more aromatic.
No, it isn't for everyday—but you can set it aside for those extra special days. Live a little; senza tentazioni, senza onore. (Where there is no temptation, there is no glory.)
GROM Gelato is available in select groceries and supermarkets nationwide. For more information, check out GROM Philippines' Facebook page.
