Here's Where You Can Buy Tacloban's Chocolate Suman in Metro Manila

Have you heard of a kakanin called moron?

If you've been to Tacloban City, you're likely to have tried moron, a native delicacy commonly found in Leyte's capital. It's similar to suman, but the glutinous rice (malagkit) is cooked in coconut milk and sugar; mixed with cocoa; then wrapped in banana leaves. Moron has a smoother texture than suman and comes with a swirl of chocolate.

You can buy this at pasalubong centers in Tacloban, but if your schedule doesn't permit you to take a trip to Eastern Visayas, you can now find moron in Ministop branches in Manila.

It costs P25, which is slightly pricier when compared to how much one box of moron can cost if you buy it in Leyte (usually P100 for a dozen). But it sure is more affordable than booking a flight and paying for extra baggage.
