(SPOT.ph) Pictures of Flossom Kitchen + Café’s charming interiors have most likely popped up on your social media feeds over the past year. This San Juan-based coffee shop is not only known for its bright and vibrant aesthetic but also for its picture-perfect menu items, which always comes with edible flower petals on top.
And now, if you’re living in or around Quezon City, you no longer have to brave EDSA traffic to get to this garden-inspired cafe, thanks to their new branch in SM North’s North Towers.

This Flossom branch is notably smaller than their first, but it retains the charming aesthetic that made this coffee shop such a hit in the first place. Pastel colors, neon lights, and of course, flowers dominate the space, while floor-to-ceiling windows help bring in tons of natural light, making this spot a nice respite from the usually busy mall. There’s also a private dining area encased in glass, if you’d prefer something a little bit more intimate.

Flossom’s menu has expanded to offer healthier choices like vegetarian and seafood dishes. Start off with their Shimeji Fritters (P300). With its light, almost tempura-like batter, these deep-fried mushrooms are extremely addictive, bursting with umami in every bite. They come with two dips, a tangy and smoky bravas sauce and a garlicky and creamy aioli sauce. Try combining the two sauces to help bring out the mushrooms’ flavors even more.
If you love all things spicy, you can’t go wrong with the Sriracha Seafood Truffle (P450). This creamy pasta dish comes with a nice kick of heat that’s easily tempered by fresh shrimp and scallops. The pasta comes perfectly al dente too.

Meanwhile, pure comfort comes in the form of the Seafood Coconut Curry (P450). This yellow curry dish is creamy, earthy, and warm, and they’re not shy when it comes to packing on the seafood. The basil rice is a nice complement to the dish, providing a bit of sweetness to this already flavorful bowl.
Their Atlantic Cod en Papillote (P550) is perfectly moist and tender. Baked in a parchment bag, the flaky cod takes on the flavor of the butter dill sauce quite nicely, while the lemon slice provides a zesty zing. It comes with tons of vegetables too, like sweet cherry tomatoes, zucchini, and French beans.

Their Strawberry Cream pancakes (P380), much like every dish on Flossom’s menu, are a feast for the eyes. It comes off almost like a deconstructed version of a strawberry shortcake, with tart strawberry cream and fresh strawberries sitting on top of two extremely fluffy pancakes. It can be a perfect cap to a meal, or for those with a bit of a sweet tooth, the best way to start your day.

Even the drinks are worthy of a picture on your feed. The Flossom Lemonade (P120) is not only refreshing, but it changes colors too right before your eyes! That’s thanks to a blue pea syrup that turns your drink from a light blue to a funky purple. If you’d prefer something on the sweeter side, you can’t go wrong with Mommy B’s Ice Tea (P80), which is based on an old family recipe.
At their new and smaller location, Flossom manages to keep the charm and the heart that made them such a hit in the first place. While they manage to lure you in with their Instagram-worthy aesthetic, it’s the food that will keep you coming back.
