Ube Lovers, You'll Want to Try This Pandesal

It's got cheese, for one thing.

You could say it's like peanut butter and jelly: ube and cheese make for a good combo. They go well with each other in whatever form they take, whether it's in hopia, cheese rolls, ice cream, cupcakes, cassava cake, puto, or pancake. This time around, we discovered Ube Cheese Pandesal (P35 each). You can find this treat at Bungalow Cafe & Bakery at Molito Complex in Muntinlupa City, which is known for its wide selection for pastries in the south of the Metro.

It's served warm, so when you bite into it, the cheese is nice and gooey.

If you love this flavor combination as much as we do, then you'll love that the bread of the Ube Cheese Pandesal actually tastes like sweet ube and that inside these small buns is melted white cheddar. The bread is extra soft, almost like biting into clouds.

It's a little pricey for a piece of special pandesal, but you don't need to buy a dozen. The Ube Cheese Pandesal is actually a moist, dense bread that makes for a filling merienda or snack. You can't go wrong with pairing it with a cup of coffee, too!

Bungalow's Ube Cheese Pandesals are available every day, but like Bungalow's sought-after doughnuts, these pastries can easily be wiped out from the counter by hungry customers as early as lunchtime. So drop by during breakfast or lunch if you want to try these for yourself.
