You Can Now Have Food Delivered via Angkas

100% of the delivery fee goes to the biker.

(SPOT.ph) Angkas, the motorcycle-based ride-sharing and delivery service also known for its attention-grabbing social media presence, launches Angkas Food today, March 23, as an initiative to help out their riders, as well as to cater to the needs of those who cannot leave their homes due to the "enhanced community quarantine."

The food delivery service is available starting tomorrow, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Delivery fee is at P60 covering a three-kilometer radius. They will charge an additional P10 per kilometer for up to five kilometers.

"Delivering food isn't our expertise," begins their Facebook statement. "Madaming mas magagaling diyanNakiki-epal lang kami," they say, no doubt as a self-deprecating joke. "Pero 'wag kayo mag-alala, legit naman 'to." Angkas also adds that 100% of the delivery fee will go to the biker.

As of writing, you can order from establishments such as Crazy Bagnet, where you can get bagnet rice bowls and bagnet a la carte; The Smokeyard, known for their pulled pork and smoked brisket; and fried rice specialties from Made in HK. You can also order from Ineng's Special BBQ for pork barbecue; tacos from A'toda Madre; lengua and callos from Wobbly Pan, Spanish Bistro; and hand-tossed pizza from Pomodoro Pizza, among others.

To place your order, you just have to call the restaurant, pay for your food—they encourage cashless transactions—and give your contact details, so that the Angkas rider can follow up with you. Do note that the delivery fee must be in cash.

They are also implementing no-touch delivery—you can retrieve your order from the seat of the motorcycle or your doorstep, while the rider maintains a safe distance.

And just a fair warning when you check out the list of restaurants they've partnered with: True to form, you'll get a laugh the second it loads on your screen.
