(SPOT.ph) There’s something especially enticing about biting into a juicy burger in the sweltering heat. One of the best-known places for burgers in Manila is Shake Shack, and what’s great is that their Central Square and Megamall branches are now open for pick-up and delivery. To order, you can either find them on Foodpanda or—if you’re out of the coverage area—order by calling their branches and booking your delivery service of choice, such as Grab or Lalamove. If you go the latter route, you can pay for your food via bank transfer (BPI or Security Bank).
You can’t go wrong with their ShackBurger (P250/single, P410/double), or cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. It's one of our favorite cheeseburgers in Manila, with individual components that are individually excellent but also complement one another perfectly. Not into meat? Shake Shack’s still gotchu with their 'Shroom Burger, which has a crisp-fried portobello mushroom “patty” filled with melted cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Don’t sleep on their Shack-cago Dog (P250), which offers a tangy and savory wham of flavor with Rick’s picks Shack relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomatoes, sport pepper, celery salt, and mustard. And it’s not a proper Shake Shack meal without their Crinkle-Cut Fries—choose from the simple Fries (P130), or the more decadent Cheese Fries (P180).
Shake Shack is a casual joint that began as a hotdog stand in Manhattan in 2001, but was quickly brought to fame by offering honest-to-goodness good burgers. They came to the Philippines in 2019, bringing over their bestsellers as well as Philippine exclusives that include their Calamansi Pie Concrete and Ube Shake.
