(SPOT.ph) When was the last time you enjoyed a strawberry dessert? There's something especially magical about how the fruit combines with cream, which softens its tart blow and adds a supporting richness that makes it all the more decadent. If you're looking for a new berry dessert to try, we've got a suggestion: hit up FRNK Milk Bar and order their Flourless Ichigo Chizu Cake, stat!

This light and fruity cake is the ultimate pick-me-upper.

The Flourless Ichigo Chizu Cake (P190/slice, P1,500/whole) is a gluten-free cake with a flourless cheesecake base and a mousse-like layer of strawberries and cream, topped with more fresh strawberries. It's a cheesecake, alright, but one that's especially light and melt-in-your-mouth—perfect after a heavy meal! We love that you can really taste fresh berries in the strawberry-cream layer, and that the cake isn't too sweet at all. It's a refreshing alternative to the many overly-rich or decadent desserts you'll find during this time of the year.

It's so light, that you'll likely find yourself going back for another slice!

In time for the holidays, FRNK also has drinks under their new Mont Blanc series. Inspired by the French chestnut dessert of the same name, these drinks have cookie crumble cheese plus a swirl of homemade chestnut jam down the sides of the glass, which lend a nuttiness and richness to the drink base. Choose from the Purple Mont Blanc (P145/small, P175/tall) with purple yam, the Cinnamon Mont Blanc (P140/small, P170/tall) with cinnamon tea, the Maccha Mont Blanc (P150/small, P180/tall) with hand-whisked Uji Kyoto matcha, or the Houjicha Mont Blanc (P150/small, P180/tall) with hand-whisked Uji Kyoto black tea. For the best experience, pair these drinks with their new Mont Blanc Doughnut (P100/piece), which has their homemade chestnut jam, cinnamon milk, and a spiced tea cake—perfect for the season!

FRNK (also known as FRNK Milk Bar) is a Japanese-style milk drink that opened in 2019. Among their most famous creations are the ultra-Instagrammable Midnight Ichigo and Dirty Maccha beverages. They've expanded the brand to also offer pastries, including doughnuts, cakes, and cookies.

Looking to chow down something savory before diving into their drinks and pastries? Why not ride the Japanese theme with some ebi tempura? Some of our favorite spots for the dish are Tenya Tempura Udon and Ebi 10—the former has a light quality to it, while the latter has a crackly-crisp batter we just cannot get enough of.
