Not only does it wake you up thanks to its caffeine content; its signature robust-tasting profile is also enjoyable in its own right. Beyond its most basic form, however, coffee also takes great to other additional flavors—from the fruity to the nutty and even to the floral sort. Chocnut from Prominent MNL
Sweet and nutty with a dusky edge from chocolate, Choc Nut candies are a nostalgic Filipino favorite—and Prominent cleverly pairs with coffee in their Chocnut (P150). With espresso and milk in the mix, the resulting drink gets a bittersweet undertone and creaminess, so you get the flavors of the candy in a more grownup light. Sea Salt Latte from Harlan + Holden Coffee
Contrasting tastes and textures come together in Harlan + Holden’s Sea Salt Latte (P160). It’s got a brown-sugar latte base with a robust, creamy profile that comes through as you sip through the drink’s savory sea-salt cream topping. Harlan + Holden also makes a bottled version that you can order for takeout via their app.
Campfire Latte from Niseko Coffee
Japanese-style coffee shop Niseko seemingly takes a cue from the art of topping hot chocolate with marshmallows in their Campfire Latte (P160). Here, a base of espresso and milk gets a sweet and cloud-like crown of marshmallows that they then lightly torch for a lightly-caramelized note.

Lazy Barista by The Black Bean
If you're up for a bit of a taste-and-texture trip, you'll want to try the Lazy Barista (P190) from Makati spot The Black Bean. Adding a chewy counterpoint to the smooth and lush mouthfeel of an espresso-milk base are cubes of coffee jelly, which themselves deliver even more robust coffee flavor as you chew. The drink is also served with a muscovado syrup that you can stir in for a more complex and earthy sort of sweetness.

Lavender Latte by Cube Coffee
If you’re looking for an unconventional but must-try coffee drink, you’ll want to put Cube Coffee’s Lavender Latte (P165/hot, P180/cold) at the top of your list. Adding a distinct, pine-like and floral note to the creamy-bittersweet mix of coffee and milk is lavender—one sip in and you’ll be transported straight to Provence.

Salted Caramel Kori Kohi by Kohi
Kori kohi refers to the Japanese coffee drink that's essentially a deconstructed latte, with frozen coffee cubes and milk that are served separately. Makati coffee shop Kori makes the beverage in different flavors, and in particular, the Salted Caramel (P120) is a must-try—the caramel gives a buttery touch to the coffee, and the salt adds a surprising savory touch that evens out its sweetness. Simply pour the milk over and watch as the coffee cubes melt, giving you a cool and creamy drink.

Orange Infused Cappuccino by Single Origin
Pairing coffee and citrusy elements may not exactly be common, but it actually makes sense to do so—imagine the chocolate-orange combination, but with the roastier taste of coffee in place of (or in addition to) the chocolate for depth.
