ICYDK: Pasig Folks, Tilde Bakery & Kitchen Is Right in Your Area
They closed their Poblacion outpost earlier this year.
Tilde Bakery & Kitchen
3 Brixton Street, Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City
Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday to Saturday)
(SPOT.ph) Not that Manila's got any shortage of dessert shops—but when you've got signatures that are as ingenious in concept as they are wonderfully executed, you definitely stand out. That's pretty much the case with Tilde Bakery & Kitchen, where classics are done really well or given subtle lifts that, simply put, work. We're huge fans of their Chocolate Truffle Cake, for one, but their menu is full of gems that give you swoon-worthy ways to get your sweet fix. They first opened as Tilde Hand Craft Café in Poblacion in 2016 and were quickly embraced by the community. In June 2021, they closed their doors, but not without the promise to reopen in a new location: Brixton Street, Pasig. We've got good news in case you missed it: That branch has already opened, so those in the area can more easily get their fix!
The Brixton branch opened on August 11 and is currently still on soft opening. It doesn't have dine-in available (even once dine-in resumes), but you can drop by within their operating hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays—they've always got cakes, cookies, and ready-to-heat food on hand. You can also place an order for those and other preorder-only dishes via their website, and pick it up or book a courier for delivery.
Aside from their swoon-worthy Chocolate Truffle Cake (P225/petite, P1,400/large)—their take on the classic, with a whipped truffle cream and dusting of cocoa powder—there's plenty to explore on their menu. The Carrot Cake Cheesecake (P225/slice, P1,500/whole) takes the usual tandem of carrot cake and cream cheese frosting into a whole new decadent territory, while the French Apple Pie (P225/petite, P1,500/whole) exemplifies warmth and nostalgia in dessert form. Don't miss the Parmesan Shortbread (P380), a savory-sweet number that's excellent with coffee; or the crunchy-chewy Sourdough (P250) that they bake fresh in small batches.
