(SPOT.ph) Having food in the pantry is always a godsend for days when you can't go out, but not pantry goods are not all created equal. There are brands and products we consider staples for a reason, such as when you can't think of anything else to eat but don't want to eat any old thing (literally old, sometimes). Enter crowd fave Knorr Crab & Corn soup. Sure, you could always reach for canton for a quick meal, but this soup packet is on another level. You can eat it as per instructions or use as base for an amped up dish.

The 2022 edition of the annual awards recently came out, and among this year's champions are Knorr Crab & Corn Soup, Anchor Salted Butter, Arla Full-Cream Milk, and more!

The 2022 edition of Yummy.ph's Good Food Awards includes these pantry items:

The awards defines "good food" as "tried-and-tested favorite ingredients" and "new food products" that the team of Yummy.ph—a sibling site of SPOT.ph—tried and tasted themselves. The team tried over a hundred products, ranging from condiments to canned goods to snacks to baking supplies and more, while keeping the elements of affordability, availability, and overall flavor in mind.

The final lineup of winners includes a number of returning favorites, among them Selecta Rocky Road Ice Cream (chocolate ice cream studded with mallows, peanuts, and chocolate), Anchor Salted Butter (which is said to have a "subtle saltiness" to bring out the butter's natural richness), Ligo Sardines in Tomato Sauce (praised for its affordability), and VCut Potato Chips (you can't beat that spicy barbecue seasoning and ridged texture). Also in the lineup, however, are newcomers of the likes of Del Monte Original Blend Ketchup (hailed its perfect balance of sweetness and sourness) and Arla's creamy, dreamy Full Cream Milk! Under the instant food category is also Knorr Real Chinese Soup Mix Crab and Corn, said to be "loaded with crab strands and corn bits." Consider picking these items up the next time you're at the grocery, or you know, see if you're own holy grail made it to the list.
