Going Local: 10 Reinvented Pinoy Dishes at the Funlasang Pinoy Twist Fest

(SPOT.ph) Many things can lead to bursts of creativity—inspiration, challenge, or even a lack of resources. It’s because of the Filipino’s penchant for innovation, along with the wide variety of local ingredients available to us, that we can boast about having such a unique local cuisine. The foodies and cooks of the country aren’t done yet, though; instead, they’re ready and willing to bring the food scene to the next level.


Check out the video above to see the dishes we enjoyed the most at the Funlasang Pinoy Twist Fest. The event, which was held last August 26, celebrated Pinoy creativity by hosting independent food concessionaires and the Funlasang Pinoy Twist Competition—a live cook-off. Nine chefs and cooks competed for the Php100,000 cash prize and serious bragging rights.
