Carlos Celdran, Ramon Bautista, Stanley Chi, and Tado team up to launch the 33rd Manila International Book Fair
(SPOT.ph) Performance artist Carlos Celdran declared himself a bookworm and talked about his favorite reads at the launch of the 33rd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), scheduled to run from Wednesday, September 12 to Sunday, September 16 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Celdran takes on MIBF ambassador duties with viral video star Ramon Bautista, cartoonist and author Stanley Chi, and radio personality Tado. The four bookworms shared anecdotes about how they got into reading, with Chi saying, "I didn't want to fail my tests [at school] so I read to study!" For his part, Tado shared in Filipino, "There was really no other form of entertainment except reading. I kind of had no choice but I ended up loving it."
The four are expected to make an appearance at the opening of the book fair on September 12. Incidentally, Spot.ph blogger Lourd De Veyra will have a book signing affair on Saturday, September 15 from 1pm to 2pm. Bring your copies of The Best of This is a Crazy Planets.
