10 Best Celebrity Selfies on Instagram
Because the selfies trend feels like it’ll go on and on and on. And on.
(SPOT.ph) The wonders of Instagram hashtags never cease. Apart from #ThrowbackThursday aka #tbt, "Selfies" is another IG trend that doesn’t look like it’s going to end anytime soon-which is a good thing, because there’s more material to talk about, yes? We pick the 10 best selfies that local celebs graciously shared on the photo and video sharing app. Don’t agree? Do us a favor and tell us who else to follow! Also, in case you don’t know yet, SPOT.ph is on Instagram. Follow us!
The Shamelessly Silly Award: Bianca Gonzalez (@iamsuperbianca). When #selfies started to take over IG (and started annoying a hell lot of users), television personality Bianca Gonazalez posted a peaceloving cute selfie with a caption that read "Why not everyone in protest of overoverposting [sic] selfies post a silly, awkward photo instead? #selfie #notggss." This girl has a point. God bless her.
The Feel-Good Selfie Award: Pam Quiñones (@pamquinones). Like Bianca, celebrity stylist Pam Quiñones chooses to see the good out of a bad thing, like Metro Manila traffic. The stylist writes, "Terrible Traffic=Shameless #Selfie Series." We espy a goofy grin behind her sexy red lips.
The Not-so-Secretly Vain Award: Bianca King (@bianca_king). Check out that mirror, showing the actress taking a photo of herself as she gets all dolled up, in front of what looks like a bigger mirror. To be fair, Bianca was specifically showing her friend, Rhian Ramos, her personal station. She was only being happy.
For-Good-Measure Award: Julia Barretto (@juliabarretto). We’re thinking, perhaps this is Julia Barretto’s way of appeasing the public, who it seems, can’t get enough of her. "Have two of me," we can imagine her saying. But of course, that’s us and our deep-fried brains. We do appreciate how fresh she looks.
The Balancing Act Award: Erwan Heussaff (@erwanjheussaff). On Independence Day, Erwan Heussaff went out for a bike ride with four of his buddies and managed to snap a photo of all of them, while balancing on his two wheels. It is in equal parts impressive (We believe you know how difficult it is to get everyone in a smart phone’s frame), and dangerous (what if there was a car coming at him?). On a side note: Because he answered with a long "nooooo!" to a commenter who wrote "selfie," we want to call him Mr. Defensive on top of being Most Balanced.
The Ang-Ganda-Mo-Pa-Rin-Kahit-May-Sakit-Ka-Na Award: Angelica Panganiban (@iamangelicap)."Ang selfie ng may lagnat," Angelica Panganiban begins her super long caption of this photo that hinted of fatigue, self-encouragement, and gratitude.
The Awkward and Uncomfy Award: Lourd de Veyra (@lourddv). Our blogger called his Kapatid colleague "uncomfy" but to be honest, between the two of them, it is Lourd who looks uncomfortable and awkward. Check out his smile and his pose and the angle by which he took the photo. The corpse looks rather, erm, at peace, if you ask us.
The Nice Mash-Up of Hashtags Award: Liz Uy (@lizzzuy). Though she didn’t actually use hashtags, we appreciate celebrity stylist Liz Uy’s mash-up of Internet trends in this post. #Selfie with #pag may time? #FTW.
The Best Businesswoman Award: A toss-up between Solenn Heussaff (@solennheussaff) and Rissa Mananquil (@rissamananquil). Both women manage to insert the brands that they are endorsing in a selfie post. A little bit in-your-face but we know that’s how things are done nowadays.
The Throwback Award: Ramon Bautista (@ramonbautista). The Internet action superstar gives a proper throwback to the original square format camera (Instagram uses the square format, take note!) with this selfie. We like how he is able to give a shoutout to ace photographer Jason Quibilan, too.
