(SPOT.ph) It's a sad day for the local music scene: Today, August 23, Route 196 has announced that they will be closing their doors after 15 years. "Alas, we’re at the end of the road for Route 196," they write in their announcement. The popular live music venue in Katipunan set the stage for local artists across all genres, making it a home away from home for musicians, fans, and casual music lovers alike.
"We may be walking towards a different direction for now, but we wanted to make sure you had something to always remind you of our crazy ride together, the things we learned, the noise we made, the rules we broke, and the friends we picked up along the way," their statement reads. To remember all the good memories, they're selling a cool Route 196 Farewell T-Shirt designed by local artist Rob Cham, which you can get for P850 through Manila Takeout's website.
