This actress will be the first Asian to join Game of Thrones

The character she plays is a badass!

( Winter is coming, and so are a bunch of new faces on the latest season of Game of Thrones. Take Jessica Yu Li Henwick, for instance, who also happens to be the first Asian to score a major role on the hit TV series.

In this world, they torture people with scorpions!

The 22-year-old, who was born to a Singaporean mother and a British father, will be playing Nymeria Sand, the second daughter of the late fan-favorite Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal). Not only is she cunning and calculated, but she also brandishes a whip (kind of like Indiana Jones).

If you've been waiting with bated breath for the show to return, you're in luck. Game of Thrones airs in the Philippines at the same time as the U.S.! The fifth season premieres on Monday, April 13 at 9 a.m. on HBO Asia. There will also be a same-day encore at 9 p.m.
