( The Metro Manila Film Festival might be a mess right now, but that doesn't mean you'll be stuck with uninspired commercial releases all year long. In fact, there are plenty of ways to see lauded Filipino indie films all throughout the year, including regular screenings at UP Cine Adarna.

From July 13 to 15, Cine Adarna is extending Pride Month celebrations with screenings of Samantha Lee's hit LGBT film, Baka Bukas, for just P150 a ticket.

In the film, Jasmine Curtis-Smith plays Alex, a 20-year-old struggling with commitment issues and grappling with her unresolved feelings for her best friend (Louise delos Reyes). It was originally part of the the 2016 Cinema One Originals, where it won a number of awards, including Best Actress and Audience Choice.
