LOOK: Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes Shoot Their New Movie Together in Japan
It's from the same director as Camp Sawi and Meet Me in St. Gallen.
(SPOT.ph) You might remember Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis as the stars of GMA 7's T.G.I.S. back in the '90s. They've worked on a few more movies since then but they were never really a pair. Now, not only is their new film, Sid and Aya (Not a Love Story), finally having them together, but it's also been shot on-location in Japan.
Curtis has been posting photos of her week-long trip to Japan on Instagram. On March 11, after landing in Manila, she posted photos of the cast and crew and shares about shooting in Japan, saying, "That’s a wrap for our Japan scenes! Thank you to our whole team! Albeit super hectic (and freezing) shooting schedule, we got everything done and smooth sailing and fun at that!" She also talks a little bit about the film. "Ahhhhh the visuals of this film are something else. I tell you! 2 more Manila days and then we’re done!!! Can’t wait for all of you to enter the unconventional world of Sid and Aya."
Her leading man also posted photos of the crew going around Japan. Dantes opens up about it being his first time shooting abroad for a movie. "In my 20 years in the entertainment industry, ngayon lang ako nakapag-shoot ng movie sa ibang bansa. I am lucky to have worked with this efficient, ingenious and talented skeletal 20(plus)-man team of Sid and Aya. Ibang klase talaga ang Pinoy," he says.
The plot and release date of the movie is yet to be revealed, but it's directed by Camp Sawi and Meet Me in St. Gallen's Irene Villamor, who shared what might be a clue on her own Instagram page. She captions a photo of the Japanese skyline with, “All I have, I will give to you. In dark times when no one wants to, I will give you me and we’ll be us.” The line is from a track by The xx called "Our Song." Fingers crossed the movie hits theaters soon!
