WATCH: Celine Dion's Latest Music Video Stars Deadpool
Yup, you read that right.
(SPOT.ph) Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett. Rihanna and Coldplay. There have been a lot of surprising and brow-raising collaborations in the music world. You may not have expected to happen, but you're also probably thankful they did. This latest addition to the list is sure to be somewhere in the pop culture hall of fame.
Celine Dion—yes, the same one who sang Titanic's theme song—released a new music video for a song called "Ashes" on May 3. Like the talented diva that she is, she's singing her heart out by herself on a stage in front of an empty audience—that is, until Deadpool (which may or may not be Ryan Reynolds in a suit) comes along and starts to dance. While Celine is belting out lines about desperation and letting beauty come out of ashes, short clips of Deadpool 2 are mixed in with the melodramatic interpretative dancing.
The merc with the mouth doesn't stop there. At the end of the video, Deadpool praises Celine for a job well done but tells her that she actually has to redo it again—because it was too perfect. "This is Deadpool 2, not Titanic," he jokes. "You're at like an 11, we need to get you down to a five, five-and-a-half tops."
The song is, of course, part of the official soundtrack for Deadpool 2. There's sure to be more hilarity and fourth-wall breaking when the movie premieres on May 16. And who knows? Maybe Celine will perform the song when she comes to Manila in July.
