The Stakes Are High in Mikhail Red's New Teen-Abduction Thriller
The first trailer of Dead Kids is here!
(SPOT.ph) By now, you've probably tried every possible way to skip the trailer for Mikhail Red's upcoming supernatural thriller Eerie every time it airs on TV. We don't blame you—with the music, the setting, and Charo Santos-Concio's character low-key threatening Bea Alonzo's, it's hard not to reach for the remote as fast as you can to switch channels. But the trailer for Red's new thriller Dead Kids will have your eyes peeled for every detail, with its neon-lit aesthetic and the not-so-usual high-stakes story that almost makes it feel like a heist film.
In the teaser trailer exclusively released on international entertainment website Screen Anarchy, a group of high-school boys team up and plan a kidnap-for-ransom scheme in the middle of their drinking sessions. Their target: The hearthhrob jock who comes from a corrupt political family. With their caricature-looking animal masks and fake accents, they try to fake-fight their way to millions of pesos.
The story—which Red says in an interview with Variety is inspired by a true story—was written by Red's brother, Nikolas. The film stars Sue Ramirez, Khalil Ramos, Markus Paterson, Vance Larena, Kelvin Miranda, Jan Silverio, and Gabby Padilla. There's no word yet on when the movie is set to premiere, but you can expect it to hit the screen before 2019 ends. Aside from Dead Kids, Red is also working on his zombie thriller Block Z, which stars Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Ina Raymundo, and Ian Veneracion.
