Hold the Door: A Game of Thrones Documentary Is Coming in May
Game of Thrones: The Last Watch takes you behind the scenes of Winterfell.
(SPOT.ph) You're probably already counting down the days until the eighth—and final—season of Game of Thrones, which premieres on April 14. (As of writing, we're only 17 days away, btw.) And while you're racking your brain trying to think of a way to cope with what's sure to be six episodes of an emotional roller-coaster, you already have something new to look forward to: Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, a two-hour documentary about how the last season was made. It's set to premiere on May 26 on HBO—one week after the last episode airs.
British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay was on set during the filming of Game of Thrones' (GoT) last season to create the documentary. According to HBO, it'll give fans an up-close look at the making of the series and it "delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and carparks of Northern Ireland."
Get ready to see another side of Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Peter Dinklage, to name a few—because the docu will also show how the cast and crew deal with intense deadlines, extreme weather, and "spoiler-hungry" fans.
