Best part? You can stream for free!
(SPOT.ph) Film buff or not, you would know how hard it is to get your hands on a copy of a Pinoy indie film that you can watch legally. The struggle is real, but streaming platforms are taking notice, and are beginning to host local titles. Case in point: iflix recently added Cinemalaya 2019 entry Edward and erotic thriller Adan to their library of films, and you can start streaming them this March. If you're already juggling more than your fair share of sign-on fees and subscription plans for streaming content, you'll be glad to know that these films are free to stream on iflix—no sign-up needed.

This Cinemalaya 2019 entry follows the life of Edward (Louise Abuel) a carefree boy who spends his youth in the halls of a hospital. To while away the time, he and his friend Renz (Elijah Canlas) play a morbid game of guessing how long a patient has left to live. As Edward begins to wonder if there's a life beyond taking care of his ailing father, he finds an unlikely friend in Agnes (Ella Cruz), another patient who's battling for her life. The film is directed by Thop Nazareno and provides a glimpse into how the Philippine healthcare system works (or doesn't), and juxtaposes a coming-of-age story against a narrative of humans slowly accepting the brevity of life.
When to stream: March 27
Adan stars Rhen Escaño as Len, a girl who lives in the province with a father (Bembol Roco) who keeps her from the rest of the world. No longer able to take his controlling ways, she enlists the help of her friend Yan (Cindy Miranda) in order to escape. Survival in the outside world proves to be a challenge, and the two resort to desperate measures to get by. This erotic thriller is directed by Yam Laranas and also stars Epy Quizon, Ruby Ruiz, and Raffy Tejada.
