Ben&Ben Announces Online Concert to Raise Funds for Healthcare Workers, Daily Wage Earners
You can watch the concert via Facebook Live.
(SPOT.ph) Staying indoors is advised in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but being cooped up at home for a prolonged period of time causes its fair share of issues. Artists like John Legend and Snow Patrol have performed free online concerts to be with fans during this tough time, and local artists like Ebe Dancel and Ryan Cayabyab have followed suit. If you're looking for another gig to stream live, we have good news for you: Indie-folk band Ben&Ben will perform in an online concert titled Puhon! via Facebook Live on March 27 at 7 p.m.
All nine members of the band will jam along from their own homes and play their hits for one hour. The livestreamed performance aims to raise funds for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment and nutrition support for healthcare workers, COVID-19 testing kits, and relief goods for daily-wage earners who can't go out and work during the enhanced community quarantine.
Funds will go to several beneficiaries, namely: One Nation Against COVID-19 Project, the University of the Philippines – Manila National Insititute of Health (NIH), the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, the Cagayan De Oro COVID Donation Drive, and the PantawidCovid Project.
Puhon is a Cebuano word meaning "hopefully," and this reflects the band's hope of bringing people together and building a network of small efforts to help fight the spread of COVID-19. If you're interested in making a donation, details can be found on the Puhon website.
