(SPOT.ph) It is day who-knows-what of the quarantine and we are all officially missing the moviehouse experience (among a slew of other things). But here's something new coming up: SM Mall of Asia is opening up a drive-in cinema at their concert grounds in Pasay City! This old-school cinema house will have its first screening on September 9.
SM Cinema made the official announcement for "Movies by the Bay" on their Facebook page. Screenings will be from Wednesdays to Sundays weekly and a ticket costs P400 pesos, and that comes with popcorn, water, and beef franks to round out the whole experience. They recommend two people to a car with a maximum of four individuals.
The first two movies slated for screening are both incredibly action-packed: Unhinged, starring Russell Crowe, and Train to Busan 2: Peninsula, sequel to the 2016 South Korean blockbuster hit. There will only be one screening on the announced dates, from September 9 to 13 and all starting at 6:45 p.m., so best get tickets ASAP.
You can purchase tickets online at the SM Tickets website. No tickets will be sold at the venue itself! Plus, only people ages 21 to 59 years old will be allowed in, as per government guidelines, according to the site.
SM first opened up a drive-in cinema at the ampitheater grounds of SM Pampanga in July. Just don't forget your usual masks, face shields, and make sure to practice physical distancing.
