(SPOT.ph) In a report by Inquirer.net's Marinel Cruz, Kris Aquino confirmed the alleged plot by the Abu Sayyaf to kidnap her and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, saying she knew of it since late February or early March.
She cited the kidnap plot as the reason why she didn't renew her contract with ABS-CBN, partly saying, "That was a painful decision, but I needed to make that judgment call so as not to expose others to harm. It was that serious that I walked away from a new two-year contract for a job I’ve loved for 20 years."
However, she made it clear that her health, which she first cited as the reason behind her showbiz hiatus, was "not fabricated" because "the stress coming from the threat had caused [her blood pressure] to constantly elevate to higher than 150/110."
President Aquino first disclosed the plan on Wednesday, April 27. "They allegedly even hatched plots to kidnap Manny Pacquiao or one of his children, as well as my sister Kris or one of her children, with the plan to use them in bargaining for the release of their cohorts. Threats against my own life have been investigated." he said.
