KC Concepcion Is Still Undecided About Going Back to Showbiz
Because, "Once in showbiz, always in showbiz."
(SPOT.ph) It's not all glitz and glamor when you're always in the spotlight. That's what KC Concepcion's been thinking about lately. Right before going to bed on the night of May 9, she took to her Instagram Story to talk about how she feels about showbiz and her private life. She starts by saying she spent all night talking to her friend about it, leading her to reflect on her decision to stay away from showbiz for now. Her last teleserye was 2014's Ikaw Lamang on ABS-CBN while her last movie was Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill, The Arturo Porcuna Story in 2013.
Before going into detail, she clarifies that she really did love what she was doing. "It's been almost three years now...I miss my friends and I miss working the way I've been before—don't get me wrong." And with a laugh, she says, "They say once in showbiz, always in showbiz." But she says she's still not ready to go back to the way things were. "I think it's just a matter of time before I choose to share my life that way again—the way I did so much."
She then opens up about how she's been enjoying her time away from the spotlight. "What I wanna share is that I've really been enjoying my privacy and as much as I want to share everything all the time like I'm used to, there's something nice about having a private life, too."
You can't blame her though, because even if it might seem that way, not all celebs have it easy. She brings it up herself. "When I see friends in the industry who are out there trying to cope with public pressure and expectations every single day of their lives—you know these people have been working hard and working so much and I feel for them. It's real." She says she prays for her burned-out and exhausted friends to be surrounded by kind people who actually and really do care for their well-being.
To end her quick but insightful post, she talks about what's kept her going. "One thing I've learned throughout my career and my life is the power of a 'How are you?'" She says that when someone asks that question and really means it, "that means the world and can change everything for that person."
KC has only been hosting and doing guest appearances from 2015 to 2016 and has been on hiatus since. But she's made good use of her time, pursuing other interests that she's also passionate about—like her jewelry line, Avec Moi. She launched the first collection of the handcrafted pieces back in March and she reveals in an interview with SPOT.ph that it immediately sold out. If this first passion project is any indication, it looks like KC's got a lot more ahead of her to keep her busy. When she decides to finally come back, she's sure to receive a warm "Welcome back!" from her fans.
