GMA spent P6 million in tips during US visit
About P6 million in service tips was given away in the US during President Gloria Arroyo's working visit there last July 29 to August 5. The tips were given to bellboys, porters, drivers, convoy escorts and housekeeping personnel.
"Based on an official breakdown of expenses provided to GMA News by Susanna Vargas, Malacañang's deputy executive secretary for administration and finance, Mrs. Arroyo's party spent $66,000 in Washington D.C. and $59,000 in New York for various service tips," GMAnews.tv reports.
This follows the series of news about the President's controversial $20,000 Le Cirque dinner , $15,000 Bobby Van's Steakhouse dinner ,and the estimated $245/head David Bouley dinner for over 40 people.

Danilo Suarez claims to have paid for the Bobby Van's dinner, while Press Secretary Cerge Remonde claims Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez paid for the Le Cirque dinner. The third meal at David Bouley was part of the Arroyos' wedding anniversary, said Batangas Rep. Hermilando Mandanas. Another steak dinner at Wolfgang's Steakhouse meal has also been reported to have been revealed by Mindoro Rep. Amelita Villarosa.
