About 500 cubic meters of water stored in Angat Dam was released on September 29 at 10 a.m. to bring down the dam's water elevation, reported gmanews.tv.
Towns in Bulacan to be affected include Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baliuag, Plaridel, Pulilan and Calumpit. The release of water may take two days.
"It should be made clear that the water we will release is not as much as the water released last Saturday," Bulacan Governor Joselito "Jonjon" Mendoza said in Filipino.
Residents have nothing to worry about as it is what they have done in the past, said Alex Palada, National Power Corp. Flood Forecasting and Warning System for dam operations division manager.
The dam's water elevation was at 214.563 meters due to typhoon Ondoy. They hope to bring it down to 212 meters.
