Noynoy Aquino doesn't want to live in Malacañang due to "negative vibes," prefers Times Street or condo
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that President-apparent Benigno "Noynoy" III says he doesn't want to live in Malacañang Palace when he assumes the position. He wants to live in a condo or, if possible, his family's Times Street home.
Aquino told ABS-CBNNews.com that he felt "negative vibes" in Malacañang. He pointed out the fact that it's where the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his family stayed for 20 years, and where President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the most unpopular president post-1986, lived for more than 9 years.
The Palace, he said, was also too large for him. At the same time, the house on Arlegui Street where his mother, Corazon Aquino, lived when she was president of the country, is just too large as well. "Living in it (Arlegui), by myself, will be too big. It will just emphasize being alone," Aquino, a bachelor, said.
If he stays on Times Street, Aquino is worried about security issues. However, he has yet to talk to the barangay captain in his area of residence. "We haven't had a chance to talk to the barangay captain, to them yet, consultative naman tayo. We would want to minimize inconvenience to them as much as possible," Aquino told ABS-CBNNews.com.
ABS-CBNNews.com that according to an official of Barangay West Triangle, they haven't received any complaints yet about Aquino's continued stay at Times Street. A neighbor said they are happy that Aquino lives in their area, and they can approach him if they need help.
