Pia Guanio cries on TV, says she and Vic Sotto are "still good" but going through a rough patch
Showbiz Central co-host Pia Guanio said on the show on July 17 that she and boyfriend Vic Sotto are "still good" but are "going through a rough patch," reports GMANews.tv.
Guanio, 35, tearfully said of their almost five-year relationship, "This is not something that you just throw away in one go. It’s hard enough as it is, the two of us, without ten gazillion people giving their opinions, making up stories and getting involved."
Before that, she said, "You really have nothing to worry about because we are very okay. There’s nothing wrong with us. We’re good... Just like any other relationship, there are ups and downs."
Guanio said she remained mum up until she spoke in Showbiz Central because she wanted them to "fix it first." Her voice broke when she said, "We’re in the process of doing that. Like in a street or a building, we are under construction right now."
Her boyfriend, veteran comedian Vic Sotto, 56, said on the show over the phone, "Like what Pia said, there will be differences [but] it’s not something we can’t fix. I don’t know how news that we’re no longer together started."
The couple did not explain exactly what their "kaunting tampuhan," as Sotto put it, was. "It was just a slight misunderstanding wrongly interpreted by other people until it was blown out of proportion," he said. He added that they are keeping their misunderstanding to themselves.
According to tabloid reports cited by Showbiz Central, the couple allegedly broke up because Guanio got tired of waiting for Sotto to propose marriage to her. Brazilian model Daiana Menezes was also linked to the couple’s rumored breakup. She told reporters after the FHM 100 Sexiest Women show on July 15, as reported by PEP.ph, "I really have no idea what’s going on... Everybody knows whom I’m dating [TV and radio host Sam YG according to PEP.ph]."
