SNN interviewed Mariel Rodriguez before she left for India.
Mariel Rodriguez, 26, has followed her suitor Robin Padilla, 42, to India, where he is observing the holy Islamic month of Ramadan, reports ABS-CBNNews.com. The TV host and actress took an indefinite leave from Pilipinas, Win na Win, also co-hosted by the action star Padilla. Rodriguez and Padilla are currently facing controversy after Padilla’s ex-wife Liezl Sicangco said Rodriguez is the reason why Padilla hasn’t been spending much time with his and Sicangco’s 10-year-old son Ali.
Before flying to India on August 17, Rodriguez told ABS-CBNNews.com she doesn’t know when she will be back. "It can be a week, a month or whatever. Babalik ako, promise (But I will definitely come back). Thank you so much and be happy for me."
In a report by ABS-CBNNews.com, Rodriguez’s manager, TV host Boy Abunda, denied that his ward is pregnant "She is neither pregnant nor getting married. (But she is leaving for) love." He said Rodriguez will honor her showbiz commitments.
The Philippine Star columnist Ricky Lo quoted a source (whom he referred to as his Very Deep Penetration Agent or VDPA Code Name 1) who said, "Mariel is willing to leave everything behind for Robin." The source also pointed out, "She was only two years old when her parents separated and she was left in the care of her grandparents. Mariel was starving for (the) love (of a man), something she didn’t find in her former boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo... until Robin came along and swept her off her feet."
According to Lo’s VDPA, the rumored couple will "pledge (their) love" at the Taj Mahal in India, "a symbol of great, undying love."
