Catch Rachel Alejandro perform in the light-hearted musical comedy whose title song Olivia Newton John made famous in the 70s: Xanadu, on September 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, and 18, 8 p.m. at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, 4/F RCBC Plaza, Makati City. The singer-actress plays the role of Greek muse, Clio, who descends from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 to inspire Sonny, a struggling artist. But when Clio, disguised as an Australian roller girl named Kira, falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and Clio risks eternal banishment to the underworld. Join artist Juvenal Sanso as he opens his exhibit titled Sanso: Extraordinaire on September 4, 6 p.m. at the Galerie Stephanie, Unit 1B, Parc Plaza Bldg, 183 E.Rodriguez Jr. Ave, Libis, Quezon City. Sanso: Extraordinaire showcases 45 works in acrylic on canvas and acrylic on paper. These include works in abstract, a direction that the artist presents to the public for the very first time such as Verdant Optimism, Exceeding Light and As Light Shines Like Silver. 10. MAP OUT RHETT EALA’S ART

Join renowned  fashion designer Rhett Eala (who will soon celebrate his 20th year in the fashion industry) through an exhibit titled Divides. View his works from September 1 to 25 at the Silverlens Gallery, Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City. Eala explores his fascination with the Philippine map, this time through monochromatic paintings. He will also be giving an artist talk on September 15, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Silverlens Gallery.
