Fire strikes another house of Chin Chin Gutierrez
24 Oras video: Fire hits actress Chin Chin Gutierrez’ house anew
A fire hit Chin Chin Gutierrez’ house in Loyola Heights, Quezon City past midnight on August 31, reports Saksi. This is the actress’ second house struck by a fire; the first was the one in Varsity Hills, Quezon City that burned down in December 2006, according to Inquirer.net.
In an Inquirer.net report, arson investigators said faulty electrical wiring may have caused the fire on August 31, which is believed to have originated from Gutierrez’ room on the second floor of the house. Nobody was reported hurt, according to ABS-CBNNews.com. Gutierrez’ manager Angela Ureta said Gutierrez has been at an out-of-town ecological workshop since August 27. The actress’ helper was present at the time of the fire, but she was fast asleep. "She did not notice anything unusual until she heard shouts from the neighbors," Ureta said.
Gutierrez’ belongings were lost in the fire, according to Inquirer.net, but houses nearby were not affected. Her neighbor Jim Paredes, who was having his birthday party at the time, was one of the first to arrive at Gutierrez’ house, according to ABS-CBNNews.com. The singer-songwriter Tweeted, "Our house almost got hit too. Thank God it rained and the firemen responded swiftly. 18 fire trucks came."
Gutierrez said in her personal message sent to Ureta, "Right now, my focus is on taking care of the immediate concerns and obligations that this unfortunate incident has brought... I know everything has a purpose."
When her Varsity Hills house made of wood burned down in 2006, Gutierrez suffered second-degree burns on her hands and feet, minor burns on her face and a back injury, according to ABS-CBNNews.com. GMANews.tv reports that arson investigators said the fire destroyed about P1 million worth of properties and damaged two of Gutierrez’ vehicles.
