CHECK IT OUT: Thai Chain Mango Tree Bistro at TriNoma
Bangkok-style Thai food comes to Manila.
Mango Tree Bistro
3rd Level TriNoma Mall (beside Power Books)
EDSA corner North Avenue, Quezon City
Tel. No. 585-5460
Famed Bangkok restaurant Mango Tree Bistro with branches in Dubai, Macau, Tokyo, London, Kuching and Busan, recently opened its first Manila branch at TriNoma. Sporting the same casual yet modern vibe of its Tokyo, Macau, and London counterparts, the Manila branch is equally spacious and sophisticated with sleek décor and cushioned booth seats lining one corner.
Mango Tree Bistro serves fragrant curries and Thai favorites.
The menu includes dishes from all four regions of Thailand and features staples like Pad Thai Goong (P350 with prawns, P230 with mixed vegetables), Pomelo Salad (P320), and the spicy Tom Yum Goong (P280), and other fragrant Thai curries.
Tom Yum Goong is best eaten with traditional Thai spicy flavors.
Other Thai favorites on the menu are Panang Gai, chicken fillet in a curry sauce with kaffir lime (P350); grilled seabass with spicy seafood sauce (P700), fried seabass fillet with mango salad (P600), and the hostess’ best recommendation, Mango Tree’s Marinated Chicken (P320). Entrees are best when served with traditionally spicy Thai flavors so watch out when you order the dishes at a less spicy level--they might turn out too bland. Serving sizes are good for 2 to 3 people.
