P-Noy speechwriter Mai Mislang not invited to APEC meeting in Japan
Carmen "Mai" Mislang, the presidential speechwriter under fire for her controversial tweets about Vietnam, won’t be joining the Philippine delegation to the Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) in Japan next week. "Not this time," President Noynoy Aquino said in a GMANews.tv report.
Communications Secretary Ricky Carandang confirms "it’s possible" that Mislang will not be included in the list of delegates, which is still being finalized.
According to ABS-CBNNews.com, Malacañang sources did not say if excluding Mislang was due to her controversial Tweeting. While in Vietnam for the recent Asean Summit, Mislang reportedly Tweeted that the wine served at a state banquet "sucked," that there were "no handsome men" in Vietnam, and that "crossing the motorcycle laden streets of Hanoi is one of the easiest ways to die."
